Simply LED 5m Flexible Strip Light

The LED Strip Light from SimplyLED is suited to a range of diverse applications. Placed under shelves or stairs it can provide a subtle, accented effect that ornaments an otherwise bland and entirely functional part of the home.

The inclusion of two 15cm connecting cables enables you to cut the strip at any of the designated intervals and then subsequently rejoin it, meaning that it can passed around corners easily. However, the strip cannot be split and placed in separate parts of the room and used independently. The connecting strip also offers the facility to connect two full length sections for a more extensive application, though it must be noted that whilst the product's construction will support this, its warranty will be voided in this instance (the final metre or so of the second strip may also appear dimmer).

In a departure from previous versions and those available elsewhere on the market, this strip light employs a newer silicone overlay rather than its epoxy resin alternative. As time passes, the heat emitted by LEDs causes epoxy resin to harden, rendering the strip inflexible and ultimately unusable. Silicone is immune from this deterioration, remaining soft and pliable throughout its life. This acute awareness and concern for the product's longevity extends right across the manufacturing process; each and every stage of its manufacture is subjected to the most rigorous quality control checks, ensuring that the end product is of the highest possible standard. An IP65 rating equips the strip with sufficient water resistance for an array of outdoor applications, though it must be noted that this rating applies only to the strip itself. Any of the strip's appendages and extremities (such as at the power unit) must be adequately waterproofed if used outside.

This cool white version employs the smaller 2835 LED chip configuration. Emitting less heat than their larger 5050 counterparts, they can be placed closer together and used in greater abundance, thereby emitting more light when in series.
