This non-corrosive batten fitting has been designed specifically for use with Crompton’s range of T8 LED tubes.
The batten’s anti-vandal design consists of a number of modular components that combine to ensure that the LED tubes it houses remain protected, both from the elements and the damaging effects of vandalism.
The fitting’s polycarbonate diffuser is attached to the bulb tray by a series of stainless steel clips that prevent it from being removed, and the tubes exposed. These clips are constructed from type 316 ‘marine-grade’ stainless steel; a famously rugged material with an excellent resistance to corrosion, even from salt water.
The bulb tray itself is constructed from a powder coated ABS compound that protects the fitting as a whole and the tubes inside it from knocks and abrasions.
It can be attached to any ceiling surface through a series of dedicated suspension eyelets that adorn the outer edge of the bulb tray. Attaching the batten to the ceiling with these (rather than drilling through the casing itself) guarantees a secure attachment that doesn’t compromise the batten’s integrity or IP65 rating.
This robust design is well suited to a range of commercial/industrial applications, including public car parks, supermarkets, workshops and food preparation areas etc.
It also removes the need for a compatible LED starter; all relevant control gear has been incorporated into the design of the batten, meaning all you need to do is wire the fitting into the mains and install the tube.
Important: this IP65 rated T8 batten fitting has been wired specifically for and tested solely with Crompton’s range of T8 LED tubes. Installing any other type of tube - either from Crompton or any other competitor - can damage both the tube and the fitting itself, while also voiding the warranty of either product.
